In-person: Maranasati – How reflecting on your death can liberate your life with Martin Aylward

EVENT DESCRIPTION

Maranasati is the recollection that we’re all going to die, and we don’t know when. The Buddhist tradition offers rich, powerful and radically transformative practices for contemplating the fragility and preciousness of our lives, and this day of practice will explore these practices, looking at ways of exploring our relationship to our own death, that of our loved ones, and the wider relationship to the dying of species and the death-threat to humanity of our climate breakdown.

Does that sound downbeat? We’ll also be pointing to the wonder of life, to the miracle that we are here at all, and to the dynamism, joy, creativity and gratitude that comes forth in acknowledging our mortality, and make the most of this brief, extraordinary gift of life.

TEACHER SUPPORT AND EVENT PRICES

Events at London Insight are offered in a spirit of generosity. The price you pay goes towards the running of the event but does not include any payment to the teachers for their teaching. ACCESSIBILITY

Please note that Colet House where the event is held, has a staircase leading up to the studio space used. There is a stair lift available, but no regular lift. There are also a few steps to access the building, but a ramp can be put out if required. If you have any concerns around walking steps/a staircase, please contact us before booking so that we are aware of any accessibility needs you may have and can ensure we are able to meet them. Sponsor:  £50  – A voluntary higher rate enabling us to offer supported rate places.
Standard:  £35
Supported: £15  – For those unable to afford the standard rate.

Please pay the sponsor rate if you can. If you are unable to afford the supported rate please let us know. We try to ensure that no one is turned away because of lack of funds, providing places are available.
