In-person: The Three Marks of Existence with Ayala Gill
25 November 2023 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
£15.00 – £50.00EVENT DESCRIPTION
How do aniccā (impermanence), anattā (no-self) and dukkha (suffering) relate to each other and why did the Buddha place them so centrally in his teachings?
How can they point us towards the possibility of living in peace? Can we understand and feel these – not as concepts, but in a direct and embodied way? Also, how does the way in which we feel these – infused with an atmosphere of sacredness – inform our experience?
In this daylong retreat we will practise for peace from the inside out, interweaving meditation, teaching, questions and connection. As well as traditional seated meditation, there will be opportunities for nature meditation, walking meditation, interpersonal meditation and movement meditation.
You are welcome to include lunch as a silent meditative practice, or to share and connect with the community at that time.
We will discover how an embodied experience of the sacredness of impermanence, no-self and suffering, invites us to live in peace.
Everyone is welcome.
