In-person: True Meaning of Compassion with Ven Canda
24 February 2024 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
£15.00 – £50.00EVENT DESCRIPTION
Compassion can be defined as the way love responds to suffering. Yet many of us find it easier to feel compassion for others compared to ourselves, and sometimes get swamped by the troubles of the world. Is this then really the compassion that leads to wisdom and peace?
Using various methods, reflections and means, this retreat will explore and cultivate compassion in the way the Buddha praised. We will develop compassionate, tender concern for ourselves and the world, softening to our experience without judgement and gently opening our hearts, so that we can respond effectively and gain insight into the way things are.
The retreat will include Dhamma reflection, guided sitting meditation, walking meditation and a Q&A session. It is suitable for all those who want to develop healthy compassion.
